TikTok gives you one clickable link, the Website field on your profile, and it does not show that field to everyone. This post covers where the field is, who gets it, what to do until you do, and how to make the one link you have do more than one job.
The rules below come from TikTok's app and from guides checked on 19 October 2026; TikTok changes them without notice and rolls them out by region, so if your screen differs, the app is right and this page is out of date.
The short version
- The clickable link lives in Edit profile → Website. A URL typed into the bio text is plain text; people would have to copy it.
- Personal accounts get the Website field at about 1,000 followers.
- Business accounts get it without the follower threshold in most regions. Some guides report that a registered business (legal name, address and a licence number) is required in some countries.
- The option is offered in the app, not on the desktop site.
- You get one field. Use a short link you can repoint, or a page that lists several links, if one destination is not enough.
Step by step, in the app
- Open TikTok and go to your profile (the person icon at the bottom right).
- Tap Edit profile.
- Tap Website and paste the full URL, including
https://. - Save. The link appears under your bio as a tappable line.
If there is no Website row under Edit profile, see the next two sections.
If you have under 1,000 followers
You have two options, and the second is the one most creators take.
Wait for the threshold. The field appears on personal accounts once you pass roughly 1,000 followers. Until then a URL in the bio text is visible but not tappable; some people still write it there so viewers can copy it.
Switch to a business account. Go to Settings and privacy → Account → Switch to Business Account, pick a category, and check the Website row again. Business accounts lose access to some commercial sounds in the music library, which is the trade-off to know about before you switch. Whether a plain business account is enough, or whether TikTok wants a registered business with documents, varies by country and has changed over time; the guides we checked disagree, so treat the Website row appearing (or not) as the answer for your region.
If the field still is not there
Regional rollout is the usual reason. The Website field is not offered in every country, even on accounts that meet the follower and account-type requirements. Updating the app, and checking from the app rather than the website, rules out the two other common causes. There is no support request that unlocks it early.
Making one link do several jobs
TikTok's single field is the reason "link in bio" became a phrase. Two ways to work with it:
- A short link you can repoint. Put a short link in the Website field and change where it goes each time you have something new: a launch page this week, a sale next week, the latest video after that. The profile never changes, so you never have to tell viewers the link is old. The free TikTok bio link shortener makes one without an account; with a free account you can edit the destination later and see the clicks in link analytics.
- A page that lists everything. If viewers need a menu (shop, newsletter, booking, other platforms), a link-in-bio page is the usual answer. The best Linktree alternatives post compares the page builders on free links, analytics and custom domains.
Either way, the link in your profile is the only place a viewer can tap, so it is worth testing on a phone after you save it: open your profile while logged out, tap the link, and check it lands where you meant.
