Expiring link

Make a link that stops working after one view or after a set time.

Passphrase protection is available on Pro ($29/mo). See plans

Burn after read is always on for anonymous secrets. The link self-destructs after one view.
    Burn after read
    Encrypted in your browser
    Never expires (until read)

No account needed. Free forever plan.

    How it works

    1. 01

Paste a password, a key, or a file

Encrypted in your browser before anything is sent. Burn after read is on for every anonymous secret.

    2. 02

      Send the link

One URL. The key after the # stays in the browser and never reaches our servers.

    3. 03

      The stored secret is gone

The first open burns the ciphertext. A second visit, by anyone, meets the destroyed page.

Browser-side encryption shipped on 29 September 2026. Secrets created before that date were stored as plaintext until they expired, and a file's name, size and type are still visible to us. Read the full security model.

    Two kinds of expiring link

An expiring link can end in one of two ways. It can end after one view, which suits a password or a note: the first reveal destroys the stored copy and the link is dead from then on. Or it can end at a date and time, which suits a web address you want to share for a while: a signup page for an event, a draft for review, a download that should not live forever.

The creator above handles the first kind as a secret and the second kind as a short link; switch tabs to pick. Both are free and need no account.

    Temporary link generator for secrets

Text pasted into the Secret tab is encrypted in your browser with AES-GCM-256 and burns after the first reveal. Unopened, an anonymous secret expires after seven days. A free account lets you set one hour, 24 hours or seven days and revoke early; Pro adds a custom expiry date and time, a passphrase and the audit timeline.

    Temporary links to web pages

A short link made on the Link tab points at any web page. From a free account you can give it an expiry date, after which it stops redirecting, and see its clicks in analytics. The temporary link tool goes into the options in more detail.
